Blue Wave Boats for Sale

Blue Wave builds shallow-draft fiberglass bay boats in Seminole, Oklahoma. That's a long way from salt water, but the Texas coast is where the brand made its name. Guides on the Laguna Madre adopted it early, and it has been one of the best-selling bay boat brands on the Gulf Coast since 2000.

A family shop in Oklahoma

Roger Parks grew up building custom boats with his father in Arkansas, then became chief designer at a boat builder in Checotah, Oklahoma, while his wife Pam worked on the business side. On September 10, 1992, they started Parks Manufacturing Inc., doing business as Blue Wave Boats, basically in a garage, with their two sons working in the shop.

The first boat, a 189 Classic, went to a small dealer in Rosenberg, Texas on December 19, 1992, ahead of the Houston Boat Show. The Parks family drove home with a check and orders for two more. In 2006 the company moved into a new 165,000 square foot plant in Seminole, Oklahoma.

The lineup has grown from the original Classic and Super Tunnel hulls to the fully lined Pure Bay. Florida Sportsman named a Pure Bay a Best Boat.

How the 2200 Pure Bay runs

Suzuki tested a 2200 Pure Bay on Galveston Bay in May 2013 with a DF175 four-stroke, two people and 25 gallons of fuel, in light chop. It reached 54 mph at 6,000 rpm and got on plane in 6.7 seconds. The best cruise was 3,500 rpm: 28.4 mph at 5.5 gph, or 5.16 mpg, for a range of about 279 miles from the 60-gallon tank.

In 2026 a 2021 2200 Pure Bay with a Suzuki DF200, a jack plate, a Minn Kota Terrova, two Garmin 9-inch screens and a trailer was listed at Captain's Choice in Fort Walton Beach, Florida for $49,900. A 2023 2200 Pure Bay with a Suzuki 175 showing just 5 hours was $62,900 at The Boat Haus in New Braunfels, Texas, down from $68,570.

What to check on a used Blue Wave

Jack plate and trim tabs. Most Pure Bays have a hydraulic jack plate. Run it up and down and look for leaks at the rams and the pump.

Tunnel hull wear. STL owners run very skinny water. Check the keel, the tunnel and the lower unit skeg for oyster and sand damage.

Livewells and fish boxes. The Pure Bay has two livewells and insulated boxes that drain overboard. Run the pumps and check the drain fittings and hoses.

Trolling motor mount. Look for stress cracks around the bow mount and plug panel, especially on guide boats.

Hours and use. Ask whether it was a guide boat. Heavy charter use puts far more hours on the outboard and the hull.

Recalls. Before you buy a Blue Wave, enter its HIN in the Coast Guard's recall search and keep a screenshot of the result with your paperwork.
