Marc de Antonio and Stan Chmielewski founded De Antonio Yachts in Barcelona in 2012. Both came from technical design backgrounds. Most of the range is built in Poland, at plants in Augustów and Ostróda, and boats delivered to the US come from Poland.

Why hidden outboards

De Antonio puts the outboards inside a molded structure under the stern sunpad. Buyers get outboard power with an uninterrupted swim platform, more deck space and quieter running. The props sit well forward of the swim ladder, which is a safety point for families with kids in the water. The engines can still tilt clear of the water at the dock.

D36 specs

The D36 won Best European Powerboat of the Year at the 2023 Düsseldorf Boat Show. BoatTEST lists it at 37'7" (11.50 m) overall with an 11'2" beam, a 2-foot draft, about 9,920 lb dry, 12 people, 225 gallons of fuel and 45 gallons of water. Standard power is twin 300 hp Mercury Verado V8s, with twin 350 or 400 hp V10 Verados as options, with or without joystick piloting. It has a double-stepped hull and two cabins with a small head. Options include a Seakeeper 2 gyro, a 3.5 kW generator, air conditioning and Zipwake trim tabs.

What to check on a used De Antonio

Engine bay access. Lift the platform and look at how easy it is to reach the engines. Check for salt buildup, corrosion on the mounts and wiring, and good drainage in the bay.

Engine hours and warranty. Get Mercury service records and ask whether any factory warranty transfers.

Options. Gyro, generator, air conditioning and joystick change the value a lot. Check each one works.

Survey. On a boat at this price, get a full survey and an engine survey. Ask a surveyor to look closely at the stepped hull and the transom structure that supports the engines.
