SeaHunter Boats for Sale

SeaHunter builds offshore center consoles from 25 to 46 feet in Princeton, Florida, south of Miami. It's a separate company from Sea Hunt in South Carolina, and listings mix the two up often, so check the hull number before comparing prices.

An aircraft man's boat company

Ralph Montalvo founded SeaHunter in 2002. Before that, the company says, he owned the largest privately held FAA repair company in the US. In November 2002 SeaHunter bought an 8,478-square-foot warehouse on 1.6 acres in Princeton for $595,000. Its first boat was an 18-foot fiberglass and Kevlar flats skiff. Today it builds in a 124,000-square-foot plant it owns there.

SeaHunter calls its process Vacuum Assisted Lamination Technology. Hulls use vinylester resin and Corecell foam core, are vacuum bagged, and have voids filled with closed-cell foam. To show how strong the hulls were, the company dropped a Tournament 35 onto concrete from 20 feet at Plantation Key. Then it cut the boat in half, ran the stern section at 31 mph, and put 32 volunteers aboard it.

The Tournament 35

The original 35, built from 2004 to 2014, is a long, narrow deep-V with a 9-foot-10 beam and 24.5 degrees of transom deadrise. Soundings tested one with triple 300 hp Evinrude E-TECs. It hit 62.3 mph and cruised at 42 mph at 1 mpg. Retail then was $169,500 with the triples.

Earlier 35s on twin Yamaha 300s were known to run 55 to 60 mph. Salt Water Sportsman later tested the bigger 37 with triple Mercury Verado 300s.

The later 35 is wider, at 11 feet 6 inches. Powerboat Guide lists 12,500 pounds dry, 396 gallons of fuel and a 1,200 hp maximum.

What they cost

In late 2026 a 2017 Tournament 35 with triple Mercury 350s at 1,285 hours was $175,000 at Doc's Yacht Brokerage in Oak Island, North Carolina. A 2016 repowered in 2025 with triple Yamaha 300s was $274,900 in Summerland Key, Florida. A 2005 hull with a 2015 refit was $169,500 in Palm City, Florida, and a 2006 was $115,000 in Miami.

The current lineup runs from the 25, 28 and 30 Floridian bay and nearshore boats through the 31, 33, 35 and 39 Tournament models to the 32, 38, 41 and 46 CTS, plus the 45 VTS. Newer hulls add carbon fiber to the lamination.

Buying checks for a SeaHunter

Know which 35 it is. The narrow 9-foot-10 hull and the 11-foot-6 hull ride and price differently. Measure the beam if the listing doesn't say.

Confirm it's a SeaHunter. Sea Hunt boats get listed under SeaHunter and the other way around. The HIN settles it.

Look at engine alignment and props. Soundings' test boat listed to port because one engine was mounted off-line. On a re-rigged boat, check that the motors sit level and the props match.

Ask the factory. SeaHunter still builds in Princeton, so send it the HIN and ask for the boat's original build details.

Price the repower. Much of the value is in the outboards. Hours, warranty transfer and engine year can swing the price by $100,000.
