Dual console boats for sale
A dual console has two consoles split by a walk-through windshield, with a helm on one side and a passenger console on the other. It is a fishing hull with bowrider seating up front.
How the layout splits the difference
Builders take a center console style hull and move the helm to starboard, put a matching console to port and close the gap with a windshield. That gives the bow a seating area like a bowrider, a spot out of the wind behind the glass and, on many models, a head inside the port console. You give up some walk-around fishing room, but you get a boat the whole family is comfortable on. EdgeWater calls its CX dual consoles crossovers, and Boating Magazine called the EdgeWater 230CX the "SUV of salt water" when it came out in 2020. See EdgeWater.
Spec sheet examples
Grady-White's Freedom 235 measures 23'7" on the centerline and 25'7" with platforms. It has an 8'6" beam, a 20 inch draft and a 20 degree transom deadrise, carries 100 gallons and is rated for 350 hp and 10 people. Cataumet Boats, a Massachusetts dealer, reported a single Yamaha 300 cruising at 27.9 mph and reaching 46.4 mph. See Grady-White.
Smaller and cheaper, Stingray's 201DC is a 20'1" boat with a 100 inch beam and 20 degrees of deadrise. A 2024 spec sheet posted by dealer Sea Masters gives 40 gallons of usable fuel, a 200 hp maximum and a 10 person rating. See Stingray.
Power catamaran builders make them too. World Cat added the 246DC to its range in 2000, and Blackfin's current line includes the 25DC, 27DC and 30DC. See World Cat and Blackfin.
What to look at on a used dual console
Start with the windshield. Check the walk-through panel for cracks around the hinges and latch, and check the frame seal where it meets the deck. If the port console has a head, look at the hoses, the holding tank and the vent for smells and stains. Lift the bow seats to check the storage drains, since water often sits there. Then treat the rest like any saltwater outboard boat: hours and service records for the engine, a look at the transom and the steering, and a check of the trailer. Also run the hull ID through the Coast Guard recall search.

Questions for the seller
Ask how the boat was used, since a dual console that spent its life pulling tubes wears differently from one used for fishing. Check the walk-through windshield door and its latch, the seat bases and the bow cushions. Ask for engine hours and service records, and whether the boat lived in salt or fresh water.
